The District hosts an Essay and Poster in the spring each year. All schools in Lee county are encouraged to participate. Winners chosen are honored at the Annual Stewardship Breakfast which coincides with the
National Stewardship Week.
First, Second, and Third places are awarded for each age category. Each winner receives a cash award, conservation education material and a chance to compete at the district level. Twelve counties included in the district level are Autauga, Bullock, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Perry and Tallapoosa. District winners advance to the state competition held in Montgomery, AL.
