Staff and Earth Team Volunteers from the Lee County Soil and Water Conservation District and Natural Resources Conservation Service help celebrate Earth Day each year with about 900 students at Smith Station Elementary School.

The purpose of the celebration is to increase student awareness of environmental issues, increase recycling efforts, and promote more responsible use of natural resources. The LCSWCD, NRCS and Earth Team volunteers make presentations about Soils, Wildlife, and Water Quality including demonstrations using the Enviroscape and Ruby Raindrop appearances.
