ABOUT PROGRAM

The LCSWCD receives funds for its annual cost-share program from the Alabama Agricultural Conservation Development Commission Program. Each year county landowners are provided financial assistance with conservation practices. In FY2002 $34,000 of cost-share funds were obligated to assist in the completion of practices. Over the last 17 years about $500,000 has been obligated through the District to assist in the conservation effort in Lee County.

Sign-up for the LCSWCD cost-share program occurs annually around August/September. Applications received are ranked according to the State of Alabama Conservation Committee and the Districts' board guidelines. Approved applications are then funded according to rank and availability of funds.
